Martin Walker has put his heart and soul and money into those fine machines and he deserves our thanks and our sympathy at this bad time.
I've shared the entire post - you could just say 'thankyou'. Or you could take a small step further and join the friendly FB group and see everything yourself first hand.
You actually quoted something from the FB group? Isn't it correct form to enclose a quotation in quote marks or to use the quote function in the editor? Either way, I had no idea that what you'd written - I assume the bit
was the quotation and was from the FB group. Either way, you failed to make it clear - that's why we have mechanisms in place within the written language to designate quotations.
Hope to have some great news to announce soon that may help things move along more quickly with the repairs to 22s number 2 Power Unit.
This is direct from the FB page, and good news for all concerned.
I'm not going to take tips on grammar from someone who can't exercise basic civility
Fingers crossed the crane at grosmont is returning to health, or another means of extracting the engine have been found.

With all respect, I couldn't give a toss about who says what, point scoring over grammar is rather immaterial regarding the bigger picture regarding Deltics 16 and 22.
Learn some basics of grammar then - it prevents misunderstandings.
This has just been posted by Martin Walker, and is much more positive.
Many may have seen an article on the Rail Magazine website stating that I am selling both Deltic locomotives and collection of spares etc. It has been the case for many years now, I have stated that I would love to hear from anyone suitable with the necessary resources, who may wish to take over the care of both my famous locos. It is not exactly the case that the locos and components are actively being offered for sale, however, should any suitab...ly serious interest be received I would consider my options.
55 022 has enjoyed many successful years of regular faultless operation on both Network Rail and Preserved Railway lines. These have included ‘The Alcan’s’, ‘Royal Scotsman’, GBRF Electric Unit moves for just short of three years in addition to operation at the Boness & Kinneil Railway, Nene Valley Railway, Severn Valley Railway and home for the last 18 months or so at the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. I suppose the law of averages dictated that we were due a bigger issue to contend with, such as the sheared quill shaft on the number 2 unit that we soon hope to repair.
I have had a few issues to contend with over the last few months with both D9016 and 55 022 and it’s amazing that great plans for both locos have begun to take shape just as the Rail article was released!! These should hopefully see 55 022 moving to a mainline TOC Depot soon, where hopefully work on the number 2 engine quill shaft can be expedited, this has been delayed for a while due to the crane at Grosmont being temporarily out of action.
Due to lack of activity, storage fees were charged at Boden Rails Washwood Heath Works, which were an added burden. The loco was moved next door to D.C.R. s Depot on the 31st August, I’d like to thank Neil Boden and his staff for the work carried out on D9016 which has seen a fair bit of the bodywork repairs completed. I’d also like to express my sincere thanks to Dan Monkman and Garcia Hanson at D.C.R. for coming to our aid and the loco being stored securely prior to a planned move to a new preserved railway home for completion of the bodywork repairs and future operation.
I hope to be in a position to announce details regarding both locos soon. As always, thanks for the interest and many encouraging comments received and please be assured that the future best interests of both locomotives remains my priority…
Guy has beaten me too it , but posted as a screenshot. If you are on Facebook and interested the group is here https://www.facebook.com/groups/25237646807/ Any support that can be offered I'm sure Martin would be very interested in hearing from you
Phew, there is hope.
Fair do's to Mr Walker, he's posted the facts and been frank.
Although this topic is about D9016, I thought I'd quickly mention the railtour today hauled by D9009 Alycidon from Burton-on Trent, dep 04:31!! to Swanage.
''Immaculate Deltic class loco D9009 Alycidon, with 1Z45 headcode, through Stonehouse at speed at 07:24. Thankfully the 07:24 Padd to Gloucester unit had been cancelled!!
Stock today: 11 very smart blue and grey Mk.2s, a blue and grey kitchen car and a chocolate/cream generator at the rear''. < BJ>
And I would say the same again. Hand-wringing on an internet forum will make not one iota of difference to either locomotive. It's an exercise in futility, unless we can find a way of turning the kinetic energy of fingers bashing keyboards into money.
I personally would like to see DP2 get resurrected. If that damn accident didn't happen she probably would have survived into preservation thanks to her impeccable operational record.
The cabs of both D9008 (55 008) The Green Howards and D9021 (55 021) Argyll & Sutherland Highlander still exist. Build a body and take the redundant engine of a Class 50 or other spare, and you've essentially got what you need to make a sincere start...
Rumours on WNXX that the locos have been sold to a certain gentleman based in Crewe...
Hmmm. Considering what the rumour mill has put onto this forum in the past, I think it's best to wait for a press release, don't you?
