    I can remember my older brother saying you need a passport to visit the Island, to a couple we were chatting to whilst on the ferry, So who else has actually heard of people asking for passport control at Ryde pier head :)

    i'm assuming the tender has to be awarded to overlap the previous tender so that theres not a situation where the loco has no maintenance contract in place if the NRM are unable to maintain it in house with its own enginering staff .

    it took so long because the NRM, as a government body has to tender everything out to tender before reaching a decision obviously rileys are the best people , and at least we don't have the same mistakes being made as were made...

    this is just about the biggest can of worms its possible to open, Managers set the agenda, get a good Manager with the right skills and they will be an asset, get the wrong one, and your railway is at risk. Not all paid staff will inspire...

    A paid employee should be one who is able to inspire, to push for worthwhile projects and go that extra mile. If you employ the wrong people you can end up alienating the volunteers. Put the wrong person in charge and it can be disaster, they can...
