Mmm.. And then its into WSR territory, and all the joys of internecine strife that particular proposal has brought about. For so many reasons, heritage and "community rail" just cannot mix. I was in HH recently, and was gobsmacked at the sheer...

Great to see a close-up of the Shark in action! That wind sounds both cold and incessant.

Quite. The railway, per se, will never pay for itself, but will always be reliant to a greater or lesser extent on donations and legacies. That is the nature of the beast, and particularly so right now, with the infrastructure renewals programme...

Apropos the delay: have just noticed a considerable number of new documents have appeared on the planning portal. these bear today's date and seem to be relevant to the area around Parracombe. I probably won't get a chance to look at these until...

At what point "in the interests of natural justice" does the ENPA stop entertaining the delaying tactics of Foot Anstey. Not being a lawyer I am unsure of the legal merit of their latest missive, but "natural justice" can hardly be served by...

If I remember, and I'm quite happy to be corrected on this, the railway claims to have been "in contact with all landowners" and that only one has refused to engage on any level. Something like that. So if my memory does serve me right, then...

Absolutely, Tom- I was talking way in the future there. Something for generations when we are long gone.

Any thoughts on a southern extension, Tom? Fraught with difficulties though it is, I cant help but think about a continuation of the original LEGR, perhaps in generations to come, interchanging with a reopened Uckfield- Lewes link at the point...

I agree with a lot of that: however much I dream about how interesting HK would be as a genuine junction, when I open my eyes I simply cannot see any feasible way that a Western extension to the middle of nowhere can be viable - even if it makes...

Not really. the general consensus is the railway has enough on its plate at the moment. However the latest BlueNews which came yesterday contained a letter from Roger Williams discussing the matter of the Ardingly extension. It's fairly obvious...

LOL! Not if they start work on them, though. The work that the railway has already carried out in the cutting south of Blackmoor may qualify as the beginning of reinstatement of the line.

The RVR currently hold the record at (something like) 2 years and 8 months for Rother District council's decision. ENPA will be running them close, soon.
