    Cab profile was the problem as the 8750 class was no good for the LU as well other than a small area such from Paddington to Smithfield, also the 97XX class held 30 more gallons of water than the 57XX/8750 class and the coal will be the same.

    Very interesting, but to me unlikely to work as who will want to pay to take on an engine you don't own and then spend money on it and rent it back to the owners at a reduced price which means there will be less money in the leasers bank account...

    The B&W railway charge rent for every steaming day an engine dose, even though the engine belongs to the railway so this money will be able to use for the maintenance/overhaul/repairs to the engine fleet, so when an engine comes out of ticket...

    To me it will be better to get 4561 running and the cost saved against getting 7821 running spent on getting the vintage (pre 1948) coaches restored back to use, as 7 of these I think will be a slighter lighter load to haul than 6 MK1 coaches....
