Is there any way I can find his profile and send a message to him?

    Cheers,

I'm getting a msg from Norton again. Unfortunately the functionality here doesn't permit me to add an image to this msg just a link to a URL.

Hi I put a message on Pete Thornhill's reader page for assistance, I guess he may not be about. Could I start a thread about BR steam Standard design modifications . The subject got some air on MHR major restorations and it got quite interesting for some of us. How then could we get the debate info on the MHR thread into the new thread. Is this possible ?

Saturday evening Pullman 5th

by admin on 07-06-2010 at 07:04 AM
Very enjoyable evening. We had a new lad start, only 13 years old, really enjoyed himself. We also had a 14 year old member of the team.
It's quite refreshing to see youngsters taking up an interest in Heritage and indeed learning new skills.

The kitchen got up to 55 Degrees that evening, now that's hot! The Chef and assistant we're leaking a little.

17th and 18th April 2010 Pullmans

by admin on 21-04-2010 at 09:02 AM
Morning,

I worked both pullmans this weekend, one was a standard Saturday night and the other was something rather special.

The Sunday lunch train was a Mayors Special. Over 40 different Mayors from across the sough east.

This is one of our volunteer Pullman Attendants, wearing the standard Pullman uniform.
I caught him during the busy main course food service, Mike was carrying the Vegetable tray. Cabbage, Carrots and Cauliflower.

My first Sunday Lunch train this year,
I was waiting today, with Chris Garman as Head Waiter. I really enjoyed it today with the really nice sunshine but cold wind.

I had the pleasure or meeting Steven at one of the door's of the pullman, Steven used to be one of our moderators I gave him a tour of the train and managed to get the chef to let him try some of the world famous Cream of Vegetable Soup.

The Sunday lunches run in a different manner, we run from Tenterden

Saturday evening Pullman

by admin on 04-04-2010 at 06:42 AM
What a cracking first train.

It took me 45 Minutes to get to the railway, got there at about half four ish.
Customers arrived at 7pm onwards and the train departed at 7:45

It was a fairly standard train to be honest, using the normal Pullman set.
We leave the last two bays empty at the end of the Maunsell coach, this is because of time,
the catering manager was behind the bar and we had three younger members of staff helping which is really good,

First Shift on the Pullman in 2010.

by admin on 03-04-2010 at 12:49 PM
It's April and my first shift as Head waiter this year on the Wealden Pullman awaits.

During this year I want to share my experiences on the Wealden Pullman. My ups and downs and the goings on behind the scenes.

It's a six course meal tonight and from what I gather a full train of covers. (56)

The menu tonight is

Soup of the day, I think it's cream of vegetable soup.
Coarse Grain Country Pate
Sorbet
Stuffed Loin of pork with
