Thread: Swanage Railway September Steam Gala

The Swanage Railway is pleased to announce that the first guest for our September Steam gala will be GNR N2, No.1744 courtesy of the Gresley society and our friends at the GCR.
The locomotive will run during our gala which runs from the 9th-11th September.
We will be running an extremely intensive timetable, with demonstration freight trains, shuttle services, evening dining on Friday and Sat nights and evening service trains with buffet running late into the night! Certainly, plenty of bang for your buck!

Therefore in action (provisionally at this time!) will be

There is an outside possibility that 34053 'Sir Keith Park' will make its debut this weekend, however this in by no means confirmed!
Trains on Friday and Saturday night will run late into the evening with No.1744 being one of two evening engines rostered on both nights.

We hope that you will be able to join us for this great annual event.
We believe this is the furthest south an N2 has ever been and we are delighted to welcome people, to see this slightly unusual eastern engine, in deepest Dorset!
